ಸುರಪುರ ಪುರಸಭೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ :
1956ನೇ ಇಸ್ವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಸಭೆ ಸುರಪುರ ಕಾರ್ಯಲಯವು ಅಸ್ಥಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಬೀದರ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು - ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ತಾನ - ಗುಲಬರ್ಗಾ 110 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಅಂತರವಿರುತ್ತದೆ, 2001ರ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸುರಪುರ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 42622, ಪುರಸಭೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 27 ವಾರ್ಡಗಳಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ವಾರ್ಡಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಚುನಾಯಿತ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ (ಒಟ್ಟ 27), ಸುರಪುರ ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ಒಟ್ಟು 3199 Sq. ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣ ಹೊಂದಿದು ಇರುತ್ತದೆ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸತ್ತಲು ನಾಲ್ಕು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳ ಮದ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ರಾಜಾ ಪಿತ್ತಂಬರ್ ಬೈರಿ ಪಿಡ್ಡ ನಾಯಕ ಇವರು ಸುರಪುರ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಸಿರುತ್ತರೆ, ಸುರಪುರ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ಥಾನ ವಾಗನ್ ಗೇರಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸುತ್ತಲು ಇರುತ್ತವೆ, ಸುರಪುರ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವೇಣುಗೋಪಾಲ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯ, ಶ್ರೀ. ವೆಂಕಟರಾಮ, ದರಬಾರ, ಟ್ರೆಲರ್ ಮಂಜಿಲ್ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಳವಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ವೇಣುಗೋಪಾಲ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಜಾತ್ರೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರು ಆಗಮಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಸುರಪುರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ ವಿರುವ ರೃಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಸುರಪುರ ದಿಂದ ಯಾದಗಿರಿ - 60 ಕಿಲೋ ಮೀಟರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುರಪುರ ದಿಂದ ಗುಲಬರ್ಗಾ - 110 ಕಿಲೋ ಮೀಟರ್ ದೂರವಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
Brief about Shorapur TMC:-
The Town Municipal Council (TMC) Shorapur was constituted in 1956, It is situated along Bidar – Bangalore –Srirangapatana National Highway at a distance of 110 Kms from Gulbarga. It has a population of 42,622 as per census 2001. The TMC has 27 wards and equal number of councilors. Shorapur TMC stretches to an area of 31.99 SqKms. The four waves of the hills covered and located around the town. The Surpur fort was built by Raja Pittambhra Bairi Pida Nayak. The Shorapur capital of the rule king of the Nayak’s before they made Vaganigera their center. And it is a one of the famous monument attracting large number of tourists. The town has the famous Venugopal Swmay Temple is an historical place having Shree.Venkatramma and Drabar, Tailor Manjel (Vesting Place) where lakhs of piligrims vist for Jatra every year. The Shorapur town has a nearest Railway stations Yadgir and Gulbarga and from Gulbarga to Bangalore buses on the way of the Shorapur Town, Gulbarga 110 Kms away respectively.
ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ : ಪುರಸಭೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಆಸ್ತಿ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕರಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇದರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 1991 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಈವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು, ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗಧಿತ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
Computerisation : Properties within TMC limits have been identified & details have been collected & Computerisation of records is under progress. Citizens can avail this facility to pay property tax shortly. Birth & Death records are available online from the year 1991. Citizens can make use of this facility to register & obtain Birth & Death Certificates.
